Android Operating System For Laptop

Android has been developed by the developers, and now we can feel for the operating system or OS for Notebook / Netbook or Laptop. Yes, like any other OS that also supports the performance of our computer.

Android-x86 is a project that provides support Android to x86 so it can be used on a variety of netbooks, laptops and tablets. Currently, the new Android-x86 4.2 (based on the latest Android 4.2.2) has been released which includes:

Linux Kernel 3.8.0;
OpenGL ES hardware acceleration for AMD Radeon and Intel chipsets;
Multi-touch, Wi-Fi, Audio, G-sensor, camera and support Backlight control;
Simulate SDCard with internal storage;
Auto mount USB drives and sdcards;
Multi-user support with up to 8 users;
Ethernet support (DHCP only) so you do not have to use WiFi to get internet access, useful to test Android-x86 in VirtualBox, etc.;
VirtualBox support.

Unfortunately, the latest Android-x86 4.2 there is no support on ARM, which means that you can not use a lot of apps and games available on Google Play Store. If you want to support on ARM, you better use traditional Android-x86 from the source or the old version (4.0 RC2 - which is more stable).

Starting with version 4.2, the developers of Android-x86 has created an image that is universal rather than building separate images for different devices. It is in the early development stage so you will probably find bugs.
